As part of the #Nostrawmovement launched on May 9th, 2017, KFC Indonesia with Divers Clean Action did a clean up action, cleaning the sea and coastal area of Pramuka Island, Thousand Islands. This action was supported by various Indonesian diving communities and managed to gather a total of 81 kilograms of trash made up mostly of plastic, including straws.
On Coral Day May 8th, 2018, KFC Indonesia and DCA launched #NoStrawMovement in a national scale by holding a press conference led by Rani Patricia, host of Jejak Petualang Trans 7 and invited medias and food enthusiasts in KFC Kemang. #NoStrawMovement is a commitment to reduce the usage of single-used plastic straws. How? KFC Indonesia outlets pull their straw dispensers, and put up infographics about the danger of straws in their outlets.
Our April eco-trip is held on April 21st-22nd, 2018, coinciding with Earth Day 2018. Participants of the trip consisted of two French reporters from Le Figaro newspaper and three Indonesian travellers.
